Many Eagle homes are newer and larger

A lot of Eagle has been built in the last few decades, and the houses show it. Many are large, with tall ceilings and big windows that face the foothills or the river. They are lovely to live in and slow to clean properly. Dust settles on high ledges and ceiling fan blades that nobody can reach from the floor. It builds up for months until the afternoon sun hits it.

More house usually means more bathrooms, and bathrooms are where most of the time goes. The water across much of the Treasure Valley is hard, and it leaves a white crust on shower glass and around faucets. Dry summers push dust into Eagle homes

Eagle sits in high desert country, and summer here can run for weeks without real rain. Fine dust blows in off open ground and new building sites, and it gets through window screens and under doors. It lands on every flat surface in the house. On dark floors and dark counters you can see it again soon after cleaning. That is why a regular visit works better than a big clean every few months.

Late summer can bring wildfire smoke into the valley, and winter brings inversions that trap cold, stale air low over the towns for days. In both seasons people keep the house shut, so whatever gets in stays in. Smoke leaves a thin gray film on blinds and window sills, and it gets into curtains and couch cushions. A feather duster only pushes that film around. Blinds and vent covers need a proper wipe with a damp cloth.

Homes near the Boise River deal with something else. In late spring the cottonwoods along the water drop their white fluff, and it drifts into garages and piles up against patio doors. It sticks to anything damp and gets carried inside on shoes and pets. Houses close to the river also tend to collect spider webs in high corners and around window frames, so we clear those while we dust.
