We clean Meridian's newer subdivision homes

Much of Meridian was farm ground not that long ago, and a lot of it is subdivisions now. The usual house here is a newer wood-frame build with an open kitchen and family room. Plenty of them have vaulted ceilings and carpet in the bedrooms. Newer does not mean easy to clean. An open plan lets cooking grease and dust drift across the whole main floor. A tall ceiling puts ledges and fan blades out of easy reach.

Skip a few months and it shows in specific places. The tops of kitchen cabinets get a film of grease and dust that turns sticky. Ceiling fans on a vaulted ceiling throw dust back into the room every time they spin. Carpet in a busy house holds grit that wears the fibers down. The path from the garage door into the kitchen is usually the first stretch to go gray.

We work from the top of the room down. Fan blades and high ledges get wiped before the counters. Counters get done before anyone vacuums, so dust does not fall onto a surface we already cleaned. Dust and hard water build up quickly

Left alone for months, it bonds to the glass and gets much harder to lift. So in the bathrooms and at the kitchen sink, we give mineral spots their own step instead of a quick wipe at the end.
